Terry Moore is a principal and co-founder of Carbon Shrinks LLC, an Austin consulting firm specializing in carbon reduction and community stakeholder strategies.  For the last three years Terry has established himself as a specialist in climate change policy, regulation and strategic business opportunities. He brings to that work skills as a business software developer where he worked closely with banks and corporations on modeling strategic opportunites. In 2008 Terry became the first person in Austin to become a certified Carbon Reduction Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers.

Terry has signed a contract with publisher Fairmont Press to author a book due out in 2010 titled “A Guide to US Climate Change Regulation”. The book will offer a plain english explanation of federal policies such as EPA Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting, the EPA Proposed rule for GHG Tailoring and (should the Boxer-Kerry bill pass the Senate) federal cap-and-trade legislation as it is enacted.

Prior to launching Carbon Shrinks, Terry was Executive Director of Sustainable Dallas, a non-profit focused on corporate social and environmental responsibility.

Since his move to Austin, Texas in 2007, Terry has been the Sierra Club’s Central Texas volunteer Coordinator for Cool Cities, lobbying local government to adopt policies to address climate change. He currently serves as the Austin Sierra Club Conservation Chair and is a member of the Executive Committee.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Terry graduated from Duke University in 1971. Terry lived in New Zealand for 32 years and is now a joint citizen of the US and New Zealand with homes in both countries. His wife is a New Zealander and his three daughters are pursuing careers in Auckland, New York City and Bristol.
